Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.” – Banksy

Robin Bell

"I believe our ability to share the emotions we feel with those important to us in our lives, is difficult using our words. However, photographs that visually express those heart felt emotions of love, tenderness, joy, and awe, that we all feel and understand, can speak those feelings for us."

Robin is a self-taught photographer who currently lives in Thibodaux, Louisiana, with her daughter Mary, who has Down Syndrome, a rescued Morkie named Lucy, and cats Harper Lee and Minou.

Her formative years were spent in Western Australia, England, and Scotland before returning to the United States to attend university.

Robin worked as a school psychologist in public education for 29 years. During those years, she also traveled the southern region of the United States participating in juried art shows and running an art gallery showcasing her work, in the New Orleans French Quarter.

Since retiring from the school system in June of 2021, Robin is fully focused creating art and traveling overseas.

Artist Statement:

I believe we all have individual strengths that give us the capacity to affect the lives of others in a positive way.

I also believe our ability to share the emotions we feel with those important to us in our lives, is difficult using our words. However, photographs that visually express those heart-felt emotions of love, tenderness, joy, and awe, that we all feel and understand, can speak those feelings for us.

I create meaningful photographs that do that.
