Crane’s vocabulary ranges from mysterious to charming, juxtaposing commonplace and disturbing, creating a subtle uneasiness in the viewer.

Artist Bio

All kinds of creatures and characters running around in Will's head. They all find a place to fit into his compositions. From mild to wild, skulls to butterflies and a rainbow assortment in between. Crane’s vocabulary ranges from mysterious to charming, juxtaposing commonplace and disturbing, creating a subtle uneasiness in the viewer. Crane’s paintings are full of contrasting images that seem to fit together only in a dreamer’s paradise. Surrealist artist Will Crane was born in 1968, and grew up in Brewton, Alabama. He collected comic books and made frequent trips to the library for art books. Here he discovered Dali and Magritte. These artists would have a lasting effect on Will's developing visual vocabulary.
